European countries have signed a declaration to purchase and collect gas from sources other than Russian gas.

Under the declaration, the signatories will be able to collect gas from non-European sources instead of Russian gas by purchasing gas before winter.
The proposal is primarily from the European Commission. Which is designed to make member states less dependent on Russian energy in the future.
The countries that have so far signed the initial proposal include Austria, Germany, France, Switzerland and the Benelux countries, the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg.
