Secret diplomatic correspondence
The government's decision to block the closed-door meeting of the National Security Committee and the National Assembly seems to be correct. According to Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry, the members of the Central Cabinet were taken into confidence over the alleged conspiracy letter and the decision was taken. The letter was later sealed for sharing the contents of the letter with the federal cabinet as per the permission given in the Official Secrets Act, while the media anchoring the foreign affairs program was also informed about the meaning of some parts of the letter. Two important points emerged from the briefing given after the emergency cabinet meeting. The first is that the letter was not written to Pakistan by any other country, nor is it an analysis of a Pakistani diplomat, but rather a documentary of the conversation that took place in the official meeting between the Pakistani diplomatic staff and the diplomatic staff of another powerful country. Is. Whatever conversation took place between the diplomats, the Pakistani diplomat sent word to word to the Foreign Ministry. Secondly, if the message contained in the letter was of extraordinary importance, it was delayed for 20 days and instead of being presented in a closed room of Parliament or in the National Security Committee, it was waved at a meeting in Islamabad on March 27. The government is being threatened from abroad. It was claimed that a threatening letter had been sent to the Foreign Ministry. The letter could not be shown to the public, but if anyone had any doubts about it, it could be shown off the record. Following the Prime Minister's claim, various sections of the opposition demanded that the letter be shown. There was also a need that if the document was of serious nature in the interest of the country and the nation, it would be taken to the relevant forum and taken into confidence and there should be no doubt that any political party in the country, including the opposition. The party would not have taken a serious stance in this matter of national interest. In the media briefing on Wednesday, the gist of the official conversation reported in the said document was that if the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan succeeds, everything will be forgiven, but if this motion fails, then the next day Pakistan Will become more difficult. The nature of the document indicates that it was a "diplomatic cable" sent by the Pakistani diplomatic mission, a day before the no-confidence motion was tabled in the National Assembly on March 7. If it was felt serious, it would be appropriate to bring it to the relevant forum immediately. However, diplomats say that diplomatic cables, along with analyzes and reports, also provide information on loud thinking which is not considered a problem in disclosing it to friendly countries. The purpose of these types of diplomatic cables is to make their government aware of all kinds of thinking in the country concerned. They do not indicate a conspiracy against any government or individual. Their content should be kept confidential and should be considered at the level of relevant experts or forums. The Federal Cabinet has been informed about the cable and some journalists have been partially informed about it. At the grassroots level, decisions can be made together in the national interest.
