Curfew imposed in Sri Lanka
A curfew has been announced in Sri Lanka from 6 pm today to 6 am on Monday.
According to the news agency, the Sri Lankan government has said in a statement that a curfew will be imposed in the whole country from 6 pm today to 6 am on Monday.
A state of emergency has been declared in Sri Lanka since last night to quell anti-government protests.
Sri Lanka's severe economic crisis has led to severe shortages of medicine, fuel and food.
It should be noted that the last six months in Sri Lanka have seen a steady rise in inflation.
According to the official Sri Lankan news agency, inflation in Sri Lanka last month stood at 18.7 percent, while food prices rose by a record 30.1 percent.
