No-confidence motion rejected, opposition sit-in in National Assembly-updates
Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri termed the no-confidence motion of the united opposition unconstitutional.
He said that no foreigner has the right to bring a no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister.
The Deputy Speaker refused to vote on the no-confidence motion and adjourned the National Assembly indefinitely.
Earlier today, the National Assembly session started late, before that it was scheduled to start at 11:30 am.
On the other hand, after the no-confidence motion was rejected, the opposition staged a sit-in in the National Assembly.
Opposition members chanted slogans against the government.

Asif Zardari met PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif, Federal Ministers Hamad Azhar and Shaukat Tareen, while Ghous Bakhsh Mehr met Asif Zardari.

PML-Q leaders Chaudhry Salik Hussain and Tariq Bashir Cheema sat on opposition benches in the National Assembly.
Earlier, he also met opposition leader Mian Shahbaz Sharif in the Opposition Chamber.
Talking to media on the occasion, Tariq Bashir Cheema said that he did not come to cast his vote but came from another job.

Talking to media on his arrival at Parliament House, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry said that Omar Sarfraz Cheema would be the Governor of Punjab.
