The declaration of the PTI's joint parliamentary party meeting has been issued.

In a meeting of the Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) joint parliamentary party, the imposition of an emergency and Governor’s Rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was condemned as an assault on provincial autonomy and the Constitution; a demand was made for the immediate revocation of these measures in the province.

A statement issued following the PTI joint parliamentary party meeting called for the restoration of the provincial government, led by Sohail Afridi.

The meeting expressed grave concern over the raids and arrests targeting the party’s elected leadership, organizational structures, and workers, and demanded the release of all detained leaders.

A resolution was adopted during the parliamentary party meeting, affirming the party’s steadfast support for the PTI founder in the struggle for democracy, the supremacy of the Constitution, and the rights of the people.

The meeting demanded the immediate release of the PTI founder and Bushra Bibi, in accordance with legal requirements, and called for the restoration of their right to unimpeded access and communication with their family, legal counsel, and party representatives.

It was further demanded that the Supreme Court’s directives regarding an independent medical examination for the PTI founder and his treatment at Shifa International Hospital be implemented. The meeting also expressed full confidence in the parliamentary and party leadership appointed by the PTI founder.

The parliamentary party meeting called for the immediate release of the PTI founder’s sisters, as well as Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Ijaz Chaudhry, and Umar Cheema.

Additionally, the meeting urged an end to illegal actions taken against political opponents, lawyers, Imaan Mazari, and Hadi Chattha. The statement unequivocally condemns terrorism and all terrorist organizations, while also expressing deep concern over the deteriorating law and order situation.

During the parliamentary party meeting, the sacrifices made by the armed forces, police, and ordinary citizens in the defense of Pakistan were acknowledged.

The meeting noted that the PML-N government is attempting to create a rift between the PTI founder and state institutions, and that the PTI’s legitimate democratic and constitutional struggle is being falsely portrayed as an act of hostility against the state.

The parliamentary party meeting demanded that the public mandate from the February 8, 2024, elections be restored, or that fresh, free, and fair elections be held across the country. A demand was also made for an impartial investigation into the events of May 9, 2023, and November 26, 2024.

The PTI parliamentary party also called for the reversal of the 26th and 27th Constitutional Amendments. Furthermore, it demanded the restoration of fundamental rights, including the independence of the judiciary, freedom of expression, the right to peaceful protest, and due legal process.

The statement expressed full confidence in the parliamentary and party leadership appointed by the PTI founder. It affirmed complete trust in the leadership of Mahmood Khan Achakzai, Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, Barrister Gohar Ali, and Salman Akram Raja, while also reiterating confidence in Sohail Afridi, Junaid Akbar Khan, and other office-bearers.

The party statement affirmed recognition of the authority vested by the PTI founder in the political committee, the core committee, and the party’s organizational structures. It emphasized that the authority to make final decisions shall remain exclusively with the PTI founder and the leadership empowered by him. During the parliamentary party meeting, a commitment was made to uphold party discipline and to resolve internal differences within party forums rather than through public statements. A coordinated struggle will continue on the parliamentary, political, and legal fronts, in consultation with the empowered leadership.
